Scholarships and Awards
Of the scholarships and awards in the College of Humanities and Sciences database, those listed below are offered to undergraduate students through the interdisciplinary sciences program. They are supported by, or endowed in honor of, alums and former members of our faculty, in a tangible representation of their deep commitment to VCU and to interdisciplinary science.
- Harkirat and Vijaylaxmi Singh Scholarship: The Harkirat and Vijaylaxmi Singh Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate science major.
- Karen and Ike Carter Scholarship for Experiential Learning: Karen and Ike Carter Scholarship for Experiential Learning will grant academically promising and hardworking students of diverse areas of study and backgrounds, with financial support so they can pursue internships, conferences, research, domestic or study abroad, and/or entrepreneurship opportunities. Applicants must be undergraduate rising juniors or rising seniors in good academic standing and be majors in the College of Humanities and Sciences. Preference will be given to students pursuing experiential learning opportunities in the arts, history, language studies and/or medical science.
- R. Grayson Weiler Scholarship for Experiential Learning: The R. Grayson Weiler Scholarship for Experiential Learning was established in 2020 through gifts from Kim and John Weiler. The fund honors the memory of Grayson Weiler, a VCU student majoring in interdisciplinary studies who would have been a member of the Class of 2020. This scholarship, open to undergraduate rising juniors or rising seniors in good academic standing, majoring in the College of Humanities and Sciences, provides financial support to pursue experiential learning experiences related to recipients’ fields of study. Such experiences must emphasize the central role that experience plays in the learning process and may include but not be limited to research, domestic study, study abroad, social entrepreneurship opportunities, conferences and/or internships.
